Liquid sodium glass is an aqueous alkaline solution of sodium silicates Na2O(SiO2)n, which is a thick liquid of yellow or gray color without mechanical inclusions and impurities visible to the naked eye.
A characteristic of the chemical composition of liquid glass is the silicate modulus. The modulus shows the ratio of silicon oxide contained in the liquid glass to sodium oxide and characterizes the yield of silica in the solution. Our company produces liquid sodium glass with silicate modulus in the range from 1.5 to 3.6 and solution density from 1.30 to 1.50 kg/dm3.
Liquid glass is produced by autoclave dissolution of anhydrous glassy alkaline silicate.
